With fuzzy heads & hungry bellies, Chris, Jackson & I headed into the tropical air down Cavenagh Street & walked two blocks to Woolworth's (Woolie's) for some provisions. Isee & Erin were still asleep (and they still are...).
We had fun reading all the product names & were surprised that there were so many Australian-made items in the aisles.
We decided to buy stuff for lunch to conserve funds. Could've gotten the "American Mild" mustard, but opted for the tangier Aussie version instead. Bought some crisps & the most tasty looking "tiger tail" baguette. Chris grabbed his number from the deli and then we realized we had to place our order in grams...so we just copied the guy ahead of us & bought 400 grams each of thin-sliced turkey & "Tasty" cheese. Our eyeballs also got a little big at the $28/kilo price tag for the turkey (yoiks!!!). Gotta work on our conversions!

Peck's Anchovette is SUBLIME!!!!! bring back a jar or six . . . [kidding, but it is really good. An Aussie version of what the Brits call "Gentleman's Relish"]
ReplyDeleteSomehow, I don't see a product called "Liver Cleansing Muesli" flying in North America. Although with the amount of beer they drink in Darwin, I get it in you context . . .
