Fly Time

Bags were packed, re-packed and packed again.  Passports were remembered.  Visas were acquired.   Security was passed quickly.  Fourteen dollar sandwiches were purchased at the airport (ouch!!). Carry-ons were carried on.  And we were on our way...

We had two relatively easy flights, though we made the discovery during the second leg of our trip that Jackson's motion-sickness tendencies mirror his mother's.  Let them have Dramamine, I say!!  I'd been wearing two accupressure bands that worked fantastically for the car ride there and nearly all of the first flight (it was the last five minutes that did me in.  It was w-i-n-d-y!!).  Our second flight was smooth sailing & the kids got to see "Saving Mr. Banks" again & we all caught up on sleep.  I used one of those u-shaped travel pillows for the first time ever -- they're amazing.  Must buy my own for the rest of our travel.

I just think I might have watched too many episodes of "Mad Men" in the past few months because it completely tainted my flying experience.  There was nothing luxurious about it.  No one at Honolulu International was waiting at the gate with leis for all of us passengers.  After twelve hours of being held captive, without any meals served to us, jam packed together in the flying tin can -- I felt deprived.  I would've even been happy with a plastic one.

We waited curbside while Chris retrieved a mini-van.  Despite the fact that it was 2 am Lewisburg time, it was nice to sit in the warm night breeze and hear the rustle of palm trees.
